A Qi-compliant charger should be verified as an exact Qi Certified product in the Wireless Power Consortium database. A magnetic ring, a Qi-compatible phone or a supplier’s use of the word “Qi” does not prove certification. Match the listed model, certification identifier, power class and product name before making a retail or procurement claim.
What “Qi Compliant” Should Mean
Qi is a wireless-charging standard and certification program managed by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). In a defensible product claim, “Qi Certified” refers to a product that completed the applicable certification process and appears in the WPC product database. “Qi compatible” may describe intended interoperability but is not the same evidence.

How to Verify a Qi Certified Charger
- Ask for the exact retail model and WPC certification identifier.
- Search the WPC Certified Products Database.
- Match the brand, product name and model rather than accepting a screenshot alone.
- Confirm the database record corresponds to the product and packaging being supplied.
- Keep the record and check date with the approval file.
Certification evidence belongs to the exact product identity. A factory address, test report from another model or a certificate for a transmitter module does not automatically support the finished charger claim.
For ongoing procurement, repeat the database check when the model, transmitter design, firmware, coil arrangement or packaging identity changes. Record who performed the check and which production sample matched the listed product. This creates a traceable approval record without implying that a database entry proves every unrelated quality attribute.
Certification Does Not Give Every Device the Same Power

A “maximum” power statement should name the compatible device and input adapter conditions. Certification also does not replace product-specific checks for temperature, mechanical construction, adapter quality or multi-device power allocation.
