A connector that fits proves only physical compatibility. It does not prove power, data, video or certification capability. Check the labels and documentation for the exact power-bank port and the device being charged.
Verify the Cable’s Power Capability
Start with the maximum output of the selected power-bank port. The cable should support at least that operating condition, but a higher cable rating will not make the power bank or phone exceed its own limit. USB-IF’s current compliance markings require USB-C to USB-C cables to show a 60W or 240W power class; data-rate markings are a separate capability.

Choose Length and Construction for the Actual Use
A short cable reduces clutter when a phone sits beside the power bank. A longer cable is easier to use from a bag, but it must still meet the required electrical specification. Inspect strain relief, plug fit and jacket condition; replace a cable with exposed conductors, a loose plug, intermittent charging or unusual heating.

- Confirm the intended output port on the power bank.
- Check whether the phone and power bank share a compatible fast-charging protocol.
- Test a known-good cable rated for the same power condition.
- Remove adapters or multi-head connectors during diagnosis.
- Compare the result with the screen off and the device at a moderate temperature.
